Rosenberg’s new Ultra-Low Harmonics (ULH) EC fans with active Power Factor Correction (PFC) are made for data centers and AHUs operating multiple fans in parallel. They minimize harmonic disturbance, eliminate the need for external harmonic filters and reduce energy consumption.

A three-phase active PFC is incorporated into the EC motor’s electronics. This new technology was developed for data centers, computer rooms and AHUs operating multiple fans in parallel, where keeping power harmonics low is a requirement.

Active PFC in the power supply enables a high power factor (low input current) and a low harmonic current. The Power Factor is typically above 0.99 and the THD(I) is smaller than 3% in a wide power range.

Rosenberg’s active PFC minimizes harmonic disturbance, eliminating the need for external harmonic filters.  These highly efficient, “plug & play-capable” EC fans also reduce energy consumption.

The first two ULH models are available to order now. Spec sheets for each are available for download.

  • Type: GKHM 560-CEI.183.6NA IE ULH
    560-mm backward curved module
    Part #:  N88-56708
    8,000 CFM @ 4 inWG
  • Type: GKHM 560-CEG.160.6NA IE ULH
    560-mm backward curved module
    Part no.:  N88-56605
    8,000 CFM @ 4 inWG

The new Rosenberg ULH fans are compact, weight-optimized fan modules, with motor, impeller, cone, motor/cone wear plate and aluminum retaining profiles. They can be mounted horizontally or vertically. The high-efficiency aluminum impeller is statically and dynamically balanced according to DIN ISO 21940-11, at least, with quality level G6.3. The fluidic optimized inlet cone is made of galvanized sheet steel.

The fan’s energy-saving EC external-rotor motor exceeds IE4 / Super Premium Efficiency. Maintenance free ball bearings are standard, closed on both sides with long-term lubrication. The new ULH motor is rated to Protection Class IP42 and insulation class F.

Standard features include:

  • 100% speed controllable
  • Integrated Motor Protection evaluation.
  • Soft Start
  • Integrated terminal box
  • Environmental resistant cable glands (3x M20).
  • Potential-free Alarm Contact.

The new fans meet all guidelines required (Machinery-, EMC- and Low Voltage Directive) to comply with installation and conformity declarations, as well as CE marking.
