CHARLOTTE, NC – Rosenberg’s new “explosion-proof” evaporator fans are safe for use in areas where there is danger of possible explosive atmospheres during abnormal operations. Rosenberg Ex evaporator fans are backward curved motorized impellers designed specifically for Class 1, Division 2 hazardous locations, in various Groups and Temperature Classes, in environments such as refineries or chemical storage. The new fans are available in sizes 400mm, 450mm and 500mm, offering airflow from 3,000 to 6,500 CFM. They are designed, manufactured and tested to meet EN 1127-1, EN 13463-1, EN 13463-5, and EN 14986 standards.

Rosenberg Ex fans are equipped with asynchronous external rotor motors built to an IP44 protection class with insulation class F. The fan motors feature protection by PTC resistors integrated into the winding.

The backward curved impellers are made of coated steel. Possible contact surfaces of all components are manufactured to minimize ignition hazards. Smooth, quiet operation is ensured with maintenance-free sealed ball bearings.

Air volume is easily adjustable using pressure and temperature controls. The fans are 100% speed controllable.

Applications for Rosenberg USA products can be found in HVAC systems (evaporator and condenser fans), chillers and data center cooling, as well as industrial and portable air conditioning; in air cooling for variable frequency drives (VFD), wind power generators and power converters, solar inverters, uninterruptable power supplies (UPS), transformers, heat sinks, fan coils, telecom racks and other industrial equipment; in air handling units and fan filter units (FFU); and in railway, marine, military and avionics equipment.
